Allen and his wife of 58 years have been educators even into retirement. Besides working with children in school, they have raised two successful children, two beautiful granddaughters and now a great grandson.
The thing that encouraged Allen to write about the growth of his faith was an experience at school one day. As Superintendent of Schools, he would arrive at a school building early and walk the halls as he prayed. Once, in the middle of the day, children were in the halls and God led him to watch one specific boy. The details of that day are in his book, but by night the boy was in the hospital waiting for surgery to remove a brain tumor.
That one example of how God talks to us has led him to write about dozens of ways we are being encouraged by the Holy Spirit every day. He also writes about 60 promises Jesus has given in the book of John. They can be used in prayer knowing that answers will be given.
He is a Christian, a prayer warrior, a hiker, an educator, a school administrator, a college professor, a Weight Watcher, a Ministering Elder, a tour guide, an author and a Bible teacher. His latest adventure is leading people on local field trips to understand 20 points of evidence proving Noah's world-wide flood.
David has retired from General Motors Corporation where he tested cars on Pikes Peak for 33 years. Pikes Peak Highway is the tallest in the world and he has completed over five thousand round trips to the summit.
He served 10 years as Chairman of the Pikes Peak Hill Climb Historical Association. Under his leadership a museum displaying race cars and hill climb winners has been placed at the Broadmoor Museum in Colorado Springs. In 2022 he was inducted into the Pikes Peak Hill Climb Museum Hall of Fame.
Living in Colorado Springs, he enjoys playing the guitar. His two beautiful girls live nearby which allows their mother to visit frequently. Both David and his loving wife were born again in 1972 and have since led Bible studies, prayer groups and ministering teams. They have seen many lives changed for the better.
